I guess it's hard to avoid journaling...especially when a person is trying to make sense out of things...
this past week has been pretty terrible. My family was hit pretty hard with the flu and the day after Christmas I had to make the tough decision to put my cat Sadie to sleep. Her death has been rough for me, I suppose in part because I haven't had to deal with a whole lot of death in my life. She was a good cat...and was one of the only things which made a specific section of my life tolerable. So again, it seems I am thinking about the past, present and future.
I'm heading to Florida and Georgia in three weeks for a much needed vacation. That should help me to relax and enjoy life a little bit which seems hard right now...
I miss you Sadie...

I haven't journaled for awhile...
Lots has happened in the past few weeks:
I was promoted to team lead at target...which means I am making more money and get to switch departments-should be interesting to see how I like my new job as team lead of all hard-line merchandise.
My family just got notification that their court date in Russia is scheduled for May 23rd...my new siblings will be integrated into the Sullivan household a few days after that...
As it turns out...I am going to Coachella...Spending Saturday with Jason and Sunday with Suzy. I'm very excited to see NIN!!!
...And...holy crap! NEIL DIAMOND IN SEPTEMBER!!!
Everything is good. I'm content. My life is changing with each passing day...and I'm just rolling with the punches :)

my throat is killing me as I embark on what appears to be the fourth day that I have had absolutely no appetite.
On the upside, (if you can even call it an upside) I'm losing weight...

My throat looks like a battlefield. Earlier this morning I thought I would be able to avoid going to the doctor, but I've got a feeling I may have strep throat...so to the doctor I go. I'm really not fond of being sick. Plus at target they frown upon staying home for any reason, so I'm basically between a rock and a hard place: go to work and infect the masses and wear myself out, or stay home and have my bosses treat my like crap when I get back.
grr.
Makes me want to be in Hawaii sipping a mai-tai and watching the sunset along the beach. Darn you Christie and Kyle ! :) Hope Maui is fantastic. I can't wait to see the pictures.
In other news, my parents and sister are making the first trip to Siberia on Monday. At which time they will be meeting my new brother and sister. I'll be watching the cats while they are away and frankly I don't envy the 12 hour plane flight and freezing temperatures that they will be facing.
I'm off to go medicate and hook myself up to a green tea IV

So I got home from work a little over an hour ago...and it was the longest freakin' night EVER!! Five cashiers called in sick and I was left with three cashiers on a very busy Friday night. Let me just say it wasn't pretty. You know the night has just about gone to hell when a customer calls your supervisor a "fucking white whore."
So here I am, wired from the three diet cokes I drank to keep me sane, approximately five and 1/2 hours from another eight hour lead shift.
Thank god I have Sunday and Monday off.
Things I need within the next 72 hours...in no particular order:
beer
karaoke
a trip to the beach
time with friends
Now I must try to fall asleep...

So I just took the Aqua teen hunger force quiz and am pleased to discover that I'm most like meatwad...
I'm basically target property for the next 48 hours, as they have me scheduled as closing lead until midnight tonight and opening lead at 7:30 tomorrow morning.
I am thankful that this week is coming to an end.

So this is the end of a roller coaster of a day-Lots of bickering took place between my family and I...
Right now I'm tired, and worn out from fighting with people. I don't hold resentment towards anybody anymore-I'm finished with that. The members of my immediate family are who they are and, in their own strange-ass way, they love me.
I was unhappy about a great many things earlier today, and then I realized that it does me absolutely no good to take these things to heart- Focusing on things that bring me joy is far more productive.
I adore you, zen_of_kermit.
Christie and Kyle, you mean the world to me...
Kristen, you're pretty freakin' awesome too!!!
Alright, I'm going to go immerse myself in music-I think I will mediate with Neil and Jimmy...also, there are a couple bottles of guinness I had stowed away in my dresser drawers that sound mighty good right now.

I figured since it has been awhile since my last entry, it was about darned time I journaled again...
I am unbelievably content with life. Despite my family occasionally getting on my nerves, everything else is going splendiferously. Target is in the process of "fast-tracking" me into some type of management position. I like the people I work with and have been able to gain favor with the managers without having to resort to any ass-kissing. Times with the JB are fantastic, as are the times I spend with my good friends.
I'm working on paying off as much debt as I can before I leave my parents home for good. I have decided that life with a house full of Siberian orphans might not be a good situation like it was in the Brady Bunch...not that the Brady Bunch had anything to do with Siberia...or orphans...

I am unbelievably content. I will refrain from saying too much more as I know that me rambling about how happy I am is almost as annoying as if I were bitching about something or other.
The JB is taking me to the Derby next week to go swing dancing. It's the first time I've ever dated a person that is more interested in new experiences and not just focused on eating out and going to movies.
My parents are going to Vegas next week for five days-I'm thinking of arranging some type of get-together at my home during that time. A night when my sister has to work...
I'm going to end this post now. I have a feeling it will be awhile before I post again. Those close to me will hear from me via the cell phone.

I feel the need to vent for a moment about my sister due to the fact that she has tried her best to piss me off all day-
The girl tells me that she wants me to know that she believes I am a barnacle in terms of relationships and I "attach myself" to whoever I'm dating. She went on to say that she doesn't believe she has a chance to actually get to know my boyfriend because I am always "climbing all over him"- For the first few minutes of the lecture I actually thought she was just joking with me. Apparently I am an incredibly offensive barnacle.
My god does my sister need a freaking social life!!!

The official list of bands who will be playing the Coachella festival came out this morning...I have to say, I feel very mixed about the bands that are playing. Coldplay is headlining night one and Nine Inch Nails is headlining night two. I'm definately excited that Wilco, Keane, and Bright Eyes will be playing. Not quite so excited about Prodigy though.

I'm quite content with regards to how 2005 is going so far...
Target is about to start promoting me: first to front lanes supervisor and then hopefully to guest service manager of some sort.
I'm dating an incredible guy who fits my personality and intelligence-level -and is cute to boot!
There are many incredible concert experiences on the horizon-Jimmy, Barry, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, COACHELLA!!!
And I have the most splendidly fabulous friends on the planet!

I've been on this earth for 26 years as of today. Birthdays tend to make me reflect on the events of the past year. As years go, 2004 was pretty damned awesome.
Here are a few highlights:
Discovering the fabulousness that is Jimmy Buffett and hanging out at the beach thanks to Miss. Christie :)
Jay White and the ass-grabbing that I'm still a little jealous of...
Meeting my fabulous friend Kyle
Super Diamond and Dudley Manlove
Hanging out with Kristen and meeting new people-some of whom use big words-Yay for big words!
Not every day was rosy as there was a certain amount of unnecessary drama caused by unnecessary people
but overall, I am thankful that for the first time in my life, I have friends who will stand by me through thick and thin and radiate a go-with-the-flow attitude. After all, when life gives you lemons, you find a way to incorporate them into a mixed drink!
Life is good.
Oh yeah, and everyone who has my phone number feel free to call and wish me a happy birthday-or tell me to kiss off. whatever. :P
